THE MELANESIAN INSTITUTE LIBRARY

The Melanesian Institute is a fine library with rich collections of books. It holds a collection of 15 000 plus books of which are mainly about Melanesian Cultures, Melanesian Religion, Anthropology, Sociology, Socio-Economics, Bibles and Christianity and the higher Religions

Apart from the books the library has periodicals, detailed maps, journals National and Post Courier Newspapers, reports and Audio Visual materials. We accept materials of value in any language but the majority of our items are in English. Attempts have been made to move firmly into encouraging more familiarity with e-books and E-Journals. DVD materials continued to be copied and archived. There are about 200 plus PNG documentary DVDs and few on HIV Aids.

Apart from serving M.I own on-site staffs the M.I library is extending its service to scholars and local students from the University of Goroka, the school of nursing and secondary schools within the vicinity of Goroka.
